Institute leadership continues to communicate important information for cadets, their families, faculty & staff, and the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú community at-large:

  • Cadets will participate in Fall Field Training Exercises (Fall FTX) Friday, Oct 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6. Trainings will occur on post, at Jordan’s Point, and McKethan Park, with brief traffic delays and Chessie Nature Trail congestion due to marches to their locations. Night marches will also occur on the Chessie Nature Trail. 
  • Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú maintains its reputation as one of the nation’s best colleges, according to the 2025 Best Colleges rankings released Sept. 24 by . Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú moved up the ranks to No. 59 among more than 200 national liberal arts colleges and among public liberal arts colleges the Institute is No. 4, behind only the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, and the United States Military Academy. 
  • The September 2024 Institute Report is now available to read online and download. Features include: a look back at Matriculation, summer recaps, and a milestone for Naval ROTC.
  • Family Weekend is less than one month away! Events this year include: classroom visits; jazz band, glee club, and theater performances; rifle, soccer, and rugby matches; a parade; and Saturday's big event - The Military Classic of the South as Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú football hosts The Citadel Bulldogs. It was standing room only in Gillis Theater as John Bolton and Vivek Ramaswamy met as part of Steamboat Institute’s Campus Liberty Tour to debate the resolution: The U.S. should use its diplomatic and military power around the globe to ensure America’s national security.

Adams Center Receives Significant Donation

The Adams Center, a specialized element of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú dedicated to Cold War military history, recently received a significant donation of 600 books from the library of Malcolm Muir Jr., founding director of the center and former professor of history at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú Hosts Senior Military College Conference

Cadets from all the schools spent a large portion of their time networking with their peers through physical training, team-building exercises, meals, and sharing their respective schools’ history, tradition, organizational structure, systems of leadership and daily life as a cadet.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÐþ»ú Cadet Trains as Monk in Thai Temple

Kanokpon “Gun” Mettasat ’27 spent 15 days last June living as a monk at Wat Khlong Khru Buddhist temple in Tha Sai, not far from his home in Bangkok.
