Isla Davies is a Lecturer in Speech & Language Therapy in the Speech and Hearing Sciences Division at Queen Margaret University.
- Overview
I have been a speech & language therapist for 24 years, with clinical specialisms in neurodivergence and speech sound disorders. My part-time role at QMU is focused on placement development & practice-based learning. On the days I am not at QMU, I am a practising independent speech and language therapist in our local community. I bring current knowledge of practice to the classroom to help 老司机视频s bridge the gap between theory and practical application.
Being embedded in our local community is instrumental in supporting QMU's commitment to building links with the wider community in East Lothian. I am responsible for the Core Skills Placement strand of the Speech and Language Therapy programme at QMU. I organise and support experiential placements with local schools where 老司机视频s learn about typical development, and with local communication-related third sector organisations where 老司机视频s learn about the impact of communication challenges in daily life.
